We’re excited to announce that the Thrifty Office Furniture team’s Food Drive, which supports the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC, has collected 381 pounds of food!
Actively participating for years, the Thifty team has assisted the Food Bank CENC’s Stop Summer Hunger campaign, which is designed to provide food over summer vacations to the nearly 300,000 students, across 34 counties, that rely on assistance for healthy meals during the school year via free and reduced lunch programs. When school cafeterias close for the summer, these children risk losing two meals a day—and the Food Bank CENC’s summer program ensures Triangle families are getting the extra support they need to prevent child hunger.
Being a part of North Carolina’s central and eastern communities, we felt it important to give back and support our communities’ families. As such, we collected 381 pounds of food—and by the food bank’s calculation, that’s 320 meals that Thrifty donated to the Durham branch of the Food Bank CENC!
The Thrifty team was happy to help, as the Food Drive was both great way to bring the office & community together for a great cause and a way to give back to the communities that support us.
